Workshop for Negotiators of International Investment Agreements

The workshop for negotiators of international investment agreements will be held at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, from the 25th to the 27th of March 2004. The workshop will provide a platform for negotiators of international multi-lateral trade and investment agreements to delve deeply into the issues related to the negotiation of such agreements. The workshop will consist of presentations by practitioners on investment flow response to Free Trade agreements and also International Investment Agreements in some regions. There will be the sharing of experiences with negotiators from other regions; a discussion on the COMESA Common Investment Area; the experiences of national treatment on pre and post establishment of investment. The analysis of relevant dispute settlement cases will also feature in the programme.
